Porkbun is an excellent domain name registrar that has a user-friendly, easy to navigate and with a unique style website. It has probably the largest collection of TLDs and its prices are lower than most domain registrars out there. On top of Visa and PayPal, they accept bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum and litecoin as a payment method. Porkbun has excellent reviews from around the web and it has become one of my favorites as well. I strongly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

I am sure you are here to learn if this new domain registrar named Porkbun is a service you can trust. Their website seems “different” from the other domain registrars and I was hesitant at the beginning as you are now. I decided to write this Porkbun Review to shed some light on this new bitcoin-accepting domain registrar with the ”cute” website and the funny name.
To begin with, Porkbun is an ICANN accredited domain name registrar based in Portland, Oregon. Their goal is to make the domain registration process easy, affordable and stress-free.
Porkbun has a unique design and a fun and enjoyable communication style, but it’s far from being the only domain name registrar company on the market. So.. why to chose (or do not chose) them instead of others?
Well.. mainly because of the raving reviews about it people are leaving all over the internet. Just see for your self.
I also tried Porkbun myself and I’ve put together the following porkbun review to highlight their pros and cons (yes, even they have some cons 😬). Here are Porkbun’s Pros & Cons in a glance.

Porkbun Review – Pros
Below you will find a detailed analysis of all Porkbun’s PROS.
#1. A clean and functional interface
The first thing you can notice when landing on Porkbun homepage is their clean and fun interface. It’s also very functional thanks to a simple menu, that lists only the few main sections, and a clear search bar that makes easy to search for domain or search for many domains in bulk (a helpful feature if you have to look for several domains at once: you can search for up to 1000 domains and automatically add the available ones to your cart).
On the whole, the entire website is well-designed and – what’s important – easy to navigate. And even with those extra branding features – like the Oink! in the search bar – the website’s functionality and usability are not compromised.
Porkbun is one of the cheapest domain registrar services on the market. Not only their registration rates are among the lowest, but also their renewal and transfer prices are less expensive than most providers.
Porkbun is 100% transparent with their pricing. Like every single feature on their website, their list of pricing is clear and transparent: you won’t find any hidden fees, or unexpected add-ons, or any surprise at all. Next to the registration price for each available top-level domain (TLD) you can also find renewal and transfer rates for a 100% transparency approach.
#4. Lots of TLD options
In addition to generic domains – such as .com, .org, .net – Porkbun offers a ton of TLD options: from country-specific domains for international use to category-specific (like real estate, technology…). Some of my favorite TLDs I have found in Porkbun are “.love”, “.baby”, “.dog”, and “.business”.
Click here to check Porkbun’s plethora of TLDs. I warn you though, they are A LOT 🤩
#5. Easy domain management
Even if you don’t have any domain management experience, Porkbun allows to easily manage your domain through a clean and easy-to-navigate interface: you’ll find everything you need to know in one place, clearly displayed, and with easy-to-access details.
#6. Free SSL Certificate
Each domain will receive a free SSL Certificate for the root domain and ten subdomains. Certificates will expire every 90 days but, until you own the domain, Porkbun will renew them automatically before the expiration date.
All the SSL Certificates are issued by Let’s Encrypt and will work just like traditional expensive certificates, protecting your visitors and adding professional veneer to your site.
#6. Complementary Products
When all is said and done, a domain is only an address online. It’s not a website, an email, or any other service. If you want to set up a site, you’ll need a hosting service and a website builder.
Porkbun offers some complementary products – such as email hosting, website hosting, website builder and domain transfer – that help with aspects other than domain registration.
Regarding prices and service offered, for complementary products Porkbun offers the level of transparency and clarity we’ve already described.
#7. Fast Payments and Bitcoin accepted
#8. Efficient Support Service
For any issue on Porkbun, you can contact their support service through the help button. You’ll reach a real person via email and get the answers you need within a few hours.
#9. No Spam emails or Upsells Pop-up
Although Porkbun offers complementary products, they won’t send you tons of emails or let you navigate through promotional pop-ups. Their policy is to make the domain purchasing enjoyable, so they’ll let you buy and manage your domain without bothering you with promotional stuff. After all, their complementary products are easily accessible from their homepage as well as your account.
Porkbun Review – Cons
On the whole, Porkbun is a solid and reliable domain registrar. The cons we could find can be considered such only by some users; but skilled users, or users that don’t have those specific needs, would find these few downsides insignificant.
#1. Lack of discounting at bulk purchasing
Since Porkbun has the “consistently and constantly cheap” policy, they can’t afford to discount at bulk purchasing. So, for those who want to bulk purchase domains, Porkbun may not be the smartest choice.
#2. It doesn’t help you set up your domain
While the domain registration process is easy and the management interface is simple and functional, Porkbun doesn’t help you set up your domain. If you have domain management experience, this won’t be a problem for you; but if you need a guide or a step-by-step process to follow, Porkbun won’t be able to help you with it.
Fortunately for you beginners, I am here to provide one 😎

Today the online presence of a company, whether it is a big shipping company or a small grocery store, is very important. People don’t ask for brochures or business cards anymore, they ask for the company website.
So, having a website can be a great benefit to your business and attract many customers. Managing a website could not be as easy as it seems, but starting from the services Porkbun can offer to you is a good starting point.
I hope you enjoyed my porkbun review. Porkbun has become one of my favorite domain registrars mainly because it accepts cryptocurrencies, it has low prices compared to other domain registrars and because their website is very user-friendly.
