China has executed 11 members of the Ming family criminal syndicate after the Supreme People’s Court upheld their death sentences. The group operated large-scale telecom fraud and online gambling networks from bases in Myanmar, handling over $1.4 billion. The court found the organization responsible for at least 14 murders and numerous other violent crimes.

Eleven members of the notorious Ming family criminal syndicate have been executed in China. The Supreme People’s Court gave final approval for the death sentences originally handed down by lower courts.

The Wenzhou Intermediate People’s Court sentenced defendants including Ming Guoping, Ming Zhenzhen, and Wu Hongming to death on September 29, 2025. They were found guilty of intentional homicide, fraud, illegal detention, and operating illegal casinos.

Appeals by most defendants were dismissed by the Zhejiang Provincial Higher People’s Court. The case was then submitted for the Supreme People’s Court’s mandatory death penalty review.

According to details confirmed by the Supreme People’s Court, the syndicate began operations in 2015. It established industrial parks in Kokang, Myanmar, as hubs for telecom fraud schemes.

The organization recruited financial backers and provided them with armed protection. Its criminal network handled fraud and gambling funds exceeding $1.4 billion.

The court stated the violence was cruel with extremely serious consequences. It emphasized the severity and social harm of the intentional homicide and injury cases.
