Polymarket launches free NYC grocery Feb. 12, donates $1M to Food Bank for NYC Opens 2/12!

-

Polymarket will open a free grocery store in New York City on February 12 at 7 Madison Avenue, stocked with items provided by Food Bank for NYC. The company said it donated $1.0 million to @FoodBank4NYC to help fight food insecurity across all five boroughs.

Polymarket released a statement describing the initiative in direct language. “As a part of our mission of giving back to the city we call home, we’ve donated $1 million to @FoodBank4NYC to help fight food insecurity across all five boroughs,” “The Polymarket is fully stocked—no purchase required. We’re open to all New Yorkers. A real, physical investment in our community.”

The project reportedly broke ground near the end of 2025 and the lease has already been signed. The company also said users can donate directly to support the new supermarket.

The effort follows a similar free grocery offer from Kalshi, which arrived first and provided shoppers up to $50 worth of groceries at Westside Market in Manhattan’s East Village on Tuesday. The two initiatives aim to address local food needs while raising public awareness.

Polymarket also announced an exclusive partnership with Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal, which will make its real-time prediction market data available across Dow Jones consumer platforms, including Barron’s, MarketWatch, and Investor’s Business Daily.
