Ripple and Aviva Investors have announced a partnership to tokenize traditional fund structures on the XRP Ledger. This marks Ripple’s first large-scale collaboration with a European investment management firm, aiming to leverage blockchain for faster, lower-cost, and more sustainable financial transactions for institutional clients.
Ripple and Aviva Investors have partnered to bring traditional fund structures to the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This initiative aims to enable the European asset manager to create and manage tokenized funds using blockchain technology.
The collaboration represents Ripple’s first partnership with a European investment management firm. By 2026, the parties intend to integrate tokenized solutions into Aviva Investors’ existing product lines.
Tokenization is designed to reduce transaction costs, improve speed, and enhance sustainability. The XRPL supports secure, low-energy, near-instant settlement with built-in compliance tools for institutions.
Ripple’s system provides tools for KYC/AML compliance, reporting, and security on an institutional level. The ledger has processed over 4 billion transactions and is maintained by 120 independent validators.
Jill Barber, Chief Distribution Officer at Aviva Investors, stated the partnership may improve time and cost efficiencies for investors. Ripple’s VP of Trading and Markets, Nigel Khakoo, said the abilities of XRPL are designed to support the next generation of institutional assets.
The partnership may pave the way for other European investment managers exploring blockchain-based fund solutions. It demonstrates how regulated tokenized funds can coexist with traditional fund structures.
