On February 3, Brave will launch a ‘vault heist’ game across its browser, X, and Discord. The event, run with partners Midnight Network, Mythical Games, and Fanon, has over 4,000 pre-registrations.
Players sign up through Fanon and select a faction. Options include Brave, Midnight Network, and Mythical Games.
Teams solve encrypted clues and complete missions. They compete across four weekly phases to unlock a digital vault.
Game activity spans the Brave browser, Fanon‘s platform, X, and Discord. Players form alliances, detect undercover moles, and take part in social prediction challenges.
The competition runs on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Final results will be announced on February 27 and the top 500 will earn prizes.
Luke Mulks, VP of Business Operations at Brave, said ‘Brave Games is free and available to everyone. There’s no need for gaming expertise or technical knowledge.’ He said the company will use the event to test participation-driven methods to attract Web3 users.
If the event succeeds, Brave plans to refine and scale the format for partners. Mulks said cultural issues, not technology, pose the largest adoption blockers, and warned about tribalism and limited exposure for new users (Ed. note: Web3 gaming interest has faded since 2022).
A market forecast estimated the Web3 gaming market at $37.5 billion in 2025 and projected growth to $183 billion by 2034.
