Chinese Crypto Businessman Found Bound and Buried in Istanbul Field

-

Chinese businessman Yong Wang was found dead and buried in Istanbul, allegedly over a cryptocurrency dispute. Turkish police investigating his disappearance discovered his body in a field with his hands, feet, and mouth bound. Authorities believe he was killed during a robbery targeting crypto assets he was carrying, and international arrest warrants have been issued for ten suspects.

A Chinese businessman carrying cryptocurrency assets was found dead and buried in a field in Istanbul’s Arnavutköy district. Turkish police began investigating after a lawyer for 38-year-old Chinese national Yong Wang filed a missing persons report on January 24.

Investigators traced Wang’s last movements using his vehicle’s GPS data, which led them to a field in the Baklalı neighborhood. There, search teams discovered his body with his hands, feet, and mouth bound with tape.

Police believe the death may be linked to a robbery, stating Wang was likely struck with a blunt object. The attackers are suspected of stealing a cold wallet containing his cryptocurrency assets before fleeing.

The investigation uncovered a possible motive tied to a financial dispute. According to the report, several suspects from China traveled to Istanbul claiming Wang had defrauded them.

Authorities allege the suspects located Wang with the help of a woman who knew him and lured him to the field where he was killed. Ten individuals, nine men and one woman, have been identified in connection with the case. Turkish officials have issued international arrest warrants for the suspects through INTERPOL.
