Kalshi faces new legal limits in Massachusetts after a judge barred residents from using its site for sports betting on Tuesday. Suffolk County Superior Court Judge Christopher Barry-Smith said he would issue a preliminary injunction stopping sports wagers without a state gaming license.
The move followed a September lawsuit filed by Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. She alleged the platform offered “illegal and unsafe sports wagering.”
A Kalshi spokesperson had not responded to requests for comment at publication. According to the report, the injunction was sought at the attorney general’s request.
This is a developing story. More information may appear as events unfold.
