Benjamin Cowen posted data showing average crypto YouTube views fell to their lowest level since 2021. The decline appeared across multiple channels in early January 2026.
Cowen noted the drop spanned many channels, not just an algorithm change. “Viewership to crypto has been dropping across platforms.”
Wu Blockchain highlighted possible causes, including scams, pump-and-dump schemes, and retail fatigue. “Commentators attribute retail fatigue to scams and pump-and-dump schemes, with investors shifting to precious metals as institutions dominate the cycle.”
The Senate banking committee is scheduled to vote on the Clarity Act on January 15, 2026 (Ed. note: the vote could alter regulatory clarity for U.S. crypto markets). Crypto Rover said “With the Clarity Act, the manipulation in the crypto market is expected to drop 70%-80%.”
Another commentator outlined specific rule changes that could follow clearer regulation. Ted listed measures such as banning wash trading and curbing fake volume.
