On Dec. 31, the official Dogecoin X account posted a picture of four Shiba Inu dogs. The image included one black-furred dog and carried the caption “tag that one friend who still uses dark-mode on their phone.”
The black Shiba dog drew attention to the token MANYU, whose official account replied with “Dark mode activated.” The post reportedly sparked a sharp increase in interest and visibility for the project.
Dogecoin does not run paid promotions and maintains casual, organic social activity. That organic tone magnified the unexpected attention on MANYU (Ed. note: Dogecoin’s posts are typically detached from short-term narratives).
MANYU has seen rapid growth and ranks among the fastest-rising Shiba-themed assets on the Ethereum network. Other notable memecoins include Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and Floki, which have led the meme token sector.
Many anticipate Bitcoin to climb to a new all-time high in 2026. Bernstein expects Bitcoin to reach about $150,000 sometime this year, which could influence market-wide token performance.
