February Gaming Surge: Dragon Quest VII, Nioh 3, Mario Tennis Fever Launch

February 2026 sees a major wave of high-profile video game releases from leading Japanese publishers, including Nintendo, Capcom, and Square Enix. Key titles launching this month are Mario Tennis Fever for the Nintendo Switch 2, the survival-horror sequel Resident Evil Requiem, and the modernized remake Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. This concentrated release schedule highlights continued strong output from the region’s gaming industry.


A significant number of major Japanese video game releases are scheduled for February 2026. Titles are arriving from prominent publishers such as Nintendo, Enix, Capcom, Tecmo, RGG Studio, and Grasshopper Manufacture.

This month will also see the arrival of High On Life 2, the PS5 release of Avowed, and the Switch 2 release of PGA Tour 2K25. The lineup demonstrates a diverse range of genres and platforms for players.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined launches on February 5 for PC and all major consoles. The update brings the classic 2000 PlayStation RPG into the present with updated visuals and a revamped vocation system.

On February 6, Tecmo releases Nioh 3 for PC and PlayStation 5. The game introduces new Samurai or Ninja paths and features non-linear open areas for exploration.

From The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen, Mewgenics arrives on PC via Steam on February 10. The game is a turn-based adventure where players breed cats.

Grasshopper Manufacture, directed by Suda51, releases Romeo is a Dead Man on February 11. The game is described as a “third-person, hyper-violent, single-player action game.”

Nintendo‘s Mario Tennis Fever launches as a Switch 2 exclusive on February 12. The game introduces Fever Rackets for special moves and includes an adventure mode.

Also on February 12, RGG Studio releases Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties across all platforms. This is a modernized update of the original game that includes a new side-story.

Capcom closes the month with Resident Evil Requiem on February 27. The game splits gameplay between FBI Analyst Grace Ashcroft and action hero Leon S. Kennedy.
