Retail traders are growing increasingly bearish on the leading cryptocurrency. The rising use of terms like “dip,” “crash,” and “bloodbath” in social discourse points to growing fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
Santiment has reported that such pessimistic sentiment trends have often coincided with contrarian market behavior. Previous periods dominated by this chatter have lined up with favorable entry points.
Despite the price correction, accumulation from different cohorts continues. Wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC have added 61,568 BTC over the past month.
Smaller wallets holding less than 0.01 BTC have increased their holdings at a similar pace. This creates an unusual overlap where both large and small cohorts are accumulating simultaneously.
Some analysts are pushing back on the idea of a near-term recovery. One previously described any bounce as a bull trap, citing wider market weakness and unresolved macro pressure.
The analyst also warned that conditions could resemble past crash scenarios. This raises the possibility of a sharper, liquidity-driven sell-off if risk sentiment deteriorates further.
