Bitcoin Empire, a free mobile game from developer Fumb Games, allows players to earn real Bitcoin by simulating a crypto mining business through screen taps and upgrades. However, an extensive playtest revealed a very low earnings rate, generating approximately 17 cents worth of Bitcoin over 19 hours of gameplay. The game follows a familiar idle-clicker formula but is reported to be more repetitive and ad-heavy than the studio’s previous titles.
The new mobile game Bitcoin Empire from Fumb Games pays players real Bitcoin for building a simulated mining operation. Available on iOS and Android, the title is free but features frequent video advertisements.
Gameplay involves tapping the screen to earn in-game currency for upgrades and hiring managers for passive income. Players can also sell their operation to investors for a multiplier, a mechanic seen in Fumb’s other titles like Bitcoin Miner and SpaceY.
Despite the premise, the actual Bitcoin rewards are minimal. Over 19 hours of play, a test earned 255 satoshis, the smallest unit of Bitcoin.
This amount is equivalent to approximately 17 cents at current exchange rates. The payout rate is significantly lower than what was observed in Fumb Games‘ earlier titles.
The developer has a history in the Bitcoin-paying mobile game space with Bitcoin Miner and Idle Mine. “Fumb has been one of the most reliable players in the Bitcoin-paying mobile game space,” an assessment notes.
However, Bitcoin Empire is described as “a repetitive retread that’s overloaded with obnoxious ads.” It is also characterized as one of the stingier examples tested to date.
