Actor Terrence Howard stated publicly that he will not invest in Bitcoin because he believes “Bitcoin is going to die.” The Hollywood star, known for roles in “Hustle & Flow” and “Iron Man,” made these comments during a recent podcast appearance. Howard criticized Bitcoin for being based on fiat currency and expressed concern that its value could be wiped out. His comments add to a long history of public figures declaring Bitcoin’s demise, though the cryptocurrency continues to operate and hold significant market value.
Actor Terrence Howard has joined the ranks of Bitcoin skeptics. He made his position clear during a recent appearance on the PBD Podcast.
Howard stated emphatically, “Bitcoin is going to die, I don’t mess with it.” He recounted a recent call about a potential $75,000 return on a $25 million investment but did not specify its connection to Bitcoin. The actor argued that “Bitcoin is still based on fiat, and because the dollar is decreasing in its value… Nobody wants their money in something that can be wiped out with the push of a button somewhere.”
He cited recent price drops as a reason for his stance. Bitcoin currently trades approximately 50% below its all-time high from October of last year.
Historically, Bitcoin has been declared dead nearly 500 times. These declarations have consistently proven incorrect as the network continues to function. The actor’s comments contrast with significant institutional adoption, including billions in ETF inflows and corporate treasury purchases.
