President Donald Trump has appointed 13 technology and cryptocurrency industry leaders to his Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The council includes figures like Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. It will advise on science, technology, education, and innovation policy, with further appointments expected.
The White House announced the appointments on Wednesday. The council, re-established by an executive order in January 2025, can ultimately have up to 24 members.
It will be co-chaired by White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks and science advisor Michael Kratsios. Many appointees have previously engaged with the Trump administration, including Huang discussing export controls and Zuckerberg attending events.
The appointments follow the release of a national AI framework. Trump has stated he will not sign other bills until the SAVE America Act passes.
Progress on cryptocurrency legislation remains stalled in Congress. The Senate Banking Committee postponed a markup after Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said his company could not support the bill as written.
No new date for the markup has been announced. The comprehensive digital asset market structure bill, called the CLARITY Act, passed the House in July 2025.
