Kris Marszalek acquired the AI.com domain for $70 million, paid entirely in cryptocurrency, with the sale closing in April 2025 and broker Larry Fischer verifying the payment. The deal is the largest publicly disclosed domain purchase, surpassing CarInsurance.com at $49.7 million in 2010, and it supports a consumer AI platform set to launch during the Super Bowl on NBC.
The platform will let users create personal AI agents that send messages and perform actions across apps. It also promises stock trading, calendar management, and project building, with user data encrypted using user-specific keys.
The service will use a freemium model, offering basic access free and advanced features via paid tiers. Marszalek serves as CEO of both Crypto.com and AI.com, and previously bought the Crypto.com domain for an estimated $5 to $10 million; the exchange now serves over 150 million retail users.
The domain was listed with a $100 million asking price when it hit the market in March 2025. “With assets like AI.com, there are no substitutes. When one becomes available, the opportunity may never present itself again.”
