Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI chatbot, is reportedly preparing to file its IPO on the US stock market before the end of this month. The company is currently running the numbers and pushing to match or beat SpaceX’s record-setting initial public offering. SpaceX raised $75 billion prior to its IPO, making it the biggest first-time share sale ever. Anthropic, valued at close to $1 trillion, submitted a draft registration statement to the SEC in June. The firm raised $65 billion in May at a $965 billion valuation, surpassing rival OpenAI. Beating SpaceX means clearing $85.7 billion, and a $100 billion raise would sit roughly 17% above that line. Anthropic saw positive adjusted operating income for the second quarter but had a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025.

Anthropic is pushing to match or beat the size of SpaceX’s record-setting initial public offering. Elon Musk’s SpaceX raised $75 billion prior to its IPO, making it the biggest first-time share sale ever.
Back in June, Anthropic, which is valued at close to $1 trillion, submitted a draft registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering. Anthropic’s target reflects how the AI industry’s leaders are transforming the tech investment landscape.
The five-year-old company raised $65 billion in May at a $965 billion valuation. This surpassed rival OpenAI’s valuation of $852 billion in March when the ChatGPT maker raised $122 billion.
Beating SpaceX means clearing $85.7 billion. A $100 billion raise would sit roughly 17% above that line.
Though Anthropic saw positive adjusted operating income for the second quarter, it had a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025. This was a roughly fivefold increase from about $8.3 billion the year before.
Furthermore, Anthropic continues to ink new deals with chipmakers and top tech firms. Last month, it signed a deal with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for “tens of billions of dollars’ worth of artificial-intelligence servers.”
In return, AMD will invest $5 billion in Anthropic. This further fuels the latter’s capitalization pre-IPO.
