Avalanche (AVAX) is approaching a key resistance zone between $8 and $8.50, according to analyst KhomshuArc, after a prolonged consolidation that pushed the token above several short-term moving averages. The cryptocurrency currently trades around $7.82, holding above its 20-, 50-, and 100-day exponential moving averages, but faces a challenge at the 200-day EMA near $8.68. A sustained breakout through $8.50 could open a path toward $10, while failure may send prices back to $6.80–$7.20 support. Derivatives data shows declining volume and open interest, indicating trader caution. On-chain activity continues with the launch of a fan rewards program for Baylor Athletics built on Avalanche.
Analyst KhomshuArc identified the $8–$8.50 region as a crucial zone for AVAX, stating that maintaining this area “could create an opportunity for a move toward $10 and potentially higher levels.” A rejection, the analyst added, could push the price back toward the $6.80–$7.20 support region.
The AVAX price has recovered from summer consolidation around $5.70–$6.50, climbing above short-term moving averages to trade at $7.82. It now sits above its 20-, 50-, and 100-day exponential moving averages, but the 200-day EMA at roughly $8.68 represents a significant resistance level. The 14-day Relative Strength Index stands at 61.56, indicating growing buying momentum without overbought conditions.
Trading volume has declined 28.70% to $334.90 million over 24 hours, while open interest fell 2.59% to $324.67 million, data from CoinGlass shows. This suggests leveraged traders are waiting for clearer signals before increasing exposure. A breakout with rising volume would confirm fresh demand, while a failure to clear resistance could keep AVAX range-bound.
Beyond price action, the Avalanche network continues to expand its ecosystem. Baylor Athletics launched a fan rewards platform using Uptop, built on Avalanche, where fans earn rewards and redeem points for ticketing, merchandise, and access.
