Binance users should prepare for a temporary suspension of deposits and withdrawals on September 22 due to a scheduled infrastructure wallet upgrade. The maintenance is expected to last approximately one hour, with trading activities remaining unaffected throughout the process. This proactive measure is a routine part of exchange operations and should not be a cause for alarm.
Binance has announced it will perform an infrastructure wallet upgrade on September 22, leading to a temporary halt of deposit and withdrawal services. The company assured users that token trading will not be impacted during the maintenance window and that all operations will resume once the system is deemed stable.
Such maintenance procedures are frequent for the exchange. Earlier this summer, Binance briefly paused deposits and withdrawals on the Bitcoin (BTC) network for wallet maintenance. Prior to that, it temporarily halted similar operations on the Ethereum blockchain, with other networks like Cardano, BNB Chain, and Tron also having been subject to support improvements.
These outages have historically lasted from a few minutes to several hours, with no major issues or user complaints reported. The upcoming event is a standard precautionary measure to ensure network stability and security.
In addition to the scheduled maintenance, Binance recently disclosed the removal of several margin and spot trading pairs, which took effect today, September 18. The delisted pairs include cross-margin pairs ENJ/USDC, GENIUS/USDC, CVX/USDC, and VANA/USDC, as well as the isolated-margin pair GENIUS/USDC. Access to the BREV/USDC, COOKIE/USDC, LA/USDC, and QNT/USDC spot trading pairs will also be terminated.
The announcement regarding these delistings had minimal impact on the involved cryptocurrencies’ prices. However, the exchange’s history shows that full trading disqualification can lead to significant price drops, as seen with tokens like Across Protocol (ACX) and Hashflow (HFT) in August. Conversely, tokens added to its Alpha section, such as PONS, have seen price surges.
Furthermore, Binance has issued a scam alert concerning phishing attacks. The company warned that attackers send fake text messages mimicking official notices to trick users into clicking malicious links. “Remember: Binance will never ask you to tap a link in a text message to ‘verify’ or ‘secure’ your account,” the alert reads. Users are urged to remain vigilant against such deceptive tactics.
