Bitcoin’s price action remains confined to a tight trading range. After rebounding from a weekend dip to $80,000, BTC added over $7,000 in value within 12 hours, breaking past $87,000 for the first time since late January.
The first rejection at $87,000 drove BTC to $85,000, but a second rejection proved more severe, pushing the asset below $84,000 and then to $82,800. It bounced shortly after but was stopped again at $85,000.
Since then, BTC has traded mostly within the $83,000–$85,000 range. Weekend attempts to break out were halted at $85,000, while bears failed to crack the $82,500 support level. Bitcoin currently sits just above $84,000.
Bitcoin’s market capitalization stands at $1.680 trillion, with its dominance over altcoins remaining flat at 58.6%. Ethereum gained over 3% in the past 24 hours, rising past $2,700 again.
