India launches BRICS 2026 with lotus logo, Namaste motif, website and people-centric theme.

-

On January 13, 2026 in New Delhi, S. Jaishankar unveiled the BRICS 2026 logo, theme, and a dedicated website. India assumed the bloc’s chairship for the fourth time to promote resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.

The logo uses a lotus with petals bearing member countries’ colors and a central Namaste. Designer Sudeep Subhash Gandhi said, “As India is the host of 8th BRICS summit, we have incorporated the Indian salutation ‘Namaste’ in the centre.”

S. Jaishankar framed the chairship theme as Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability. He said this reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s humanity-first, people-centric vision.

The official site brics2026.gov.in will act as the chairship’s information hub and update platform. Jaishankar said the platform would enhance transparency and timely dissemination of meetings, initiatives, and outcomes.

The expanded grouping now includes eleven members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. New members also include Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
