LIT Token Rallies 15% But Struggles to Break $4 Hurdle Ahead of Fed Decision

-

Lighter’s native token LIT rallied more than 15% in 48 hours, climbing from below $3.50 to above $3.94. The move revived hopes that $5 could be the next target if $4 resistance is cleared, though the token has repeatedly struggled to break that level after an 110% August run. The DEX recorded $39B in perpetual volume in August, helped by Robinhood integration. Robinhood reported $7.3B in perp volume from Lighter over two months. Revenue rose 24% to $2.6 million in August, supporting LIT buybacks. Macro factors, including the Fed rate decision, remain key.

LIT, the native token of perpetual DEX Lighter, rallied more than 15% in the past 48 hours. The increase took the token from below $3.50 to over $3.94, raising expectations that $5 could be the next target if $4 is cleared.

The token has struggled to crack above $4 despite an 110% explosive run in August. On daily charts, LIT has traded below $4 since late August after its Relative Strength Index entered overbought territory.

The Average True Range has flattened and started to trend downward, signaling that August volatility has eased. Without a sharp rise in the metric and strong trading volume, a breakout above $4 could become a fakeout.

Ahead of the Fed rate decision on 15 September, the altcoin may extend its sideways structure below $4 despite strong DEX traction. If the broader crypto market extends its recovery, the sideways thesis could be invalidated, allowing LIT to clear $4 and target $4.50 or $5.10.

The DEX recorded $39B in perpetual volume in August, up from $36B in July. Lighter powers perps on Robinhood Wallet, and the same infrastructure supports perp markets on Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum L2.

Robinhood said perps volume generated by Lighter on its platform reached $7.3B in two months, a factor behind the mid-week LIT rally. Lighter’s revenue rose 24% from $2.1 million to $2.6 million in August, while fees jumped 30% from $2.7 million to $3.5 million.

Since most revenue goes to LIT buyback, continued traction could support the token’s uptrend. Overall, Lighter has shown strong growth partly due to Robinhood integration, though clearing the $4 overhead hurdle may depend on macro factors.
