Singaporean citizen Malone Lam has pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C., to participating in an international cybercrime conspiracy that stole and laundered more than $245 million in cryptocurrency. The 22-year-old, a recent Miami resident, pleaded guilty to one count of participating in a RICO conspiracy, with a status hearing scheduled for December 8, 2026. The criminal enterprise, active from October 2023 through May 2025, used social engineering and home break-ins to drain victims’ wallets. Stolen funds were spent on luxury goods, including nightclub services, exotic cars, and watches.
Malone Lam, a 22-year-old Singaporean citizen and recent Miami resident, has pleaded guilty in Washington, D.C., for his role in a conspiracy that stole and laundered over $245 million in cryptocurrency. The plea was announced by Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro after Lam appeared before US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly.
According to the official press release, Lam pleaded guilty to one count of participating in a RICO conspiracy. A status hearing is scheduled for December 8, 2026. Court documents state the criminal enterprise began no later than October 2023 and continued through at least May 2025.
The group, which grew through connections on online gaming platforms, included members based in California, Connecticut, New York, Florida, and other countries. Members relied on social engineering and, at times, home break-ins to gather information to drain victims’ crypto wallets.
US Attorney Pirro stated, “If you build a cybercrime empire, we will find you, dismantle your operation, and hold you accountable.” She added that Lam led an international network that preyed on victims through deception and privacy invasion.
Lam, who used aliases “Anne Hathaway,” “$$$,” and “King Greavy,” organized the operation, selected targets, and assigned roles among conspirators. The group spent heavily on luxury goods, paying as much as $500,000 for a single night of nightclub services and buying handbags worth tens of thousands of dollars.
They purchased watches worth between $100,000 and $500,000, spent tens of thousands on luxury clothing, and rented homes in Los Angeles, the Hamptons, and Miami. The group also hired private jets and a private security team, and acquired exotic cars worth between $100,000 and $3.8 million. Law enforcement arrested Lam on September 18, 2025, at his rental home in Miami.
