-

Southeast Asia blockchain funding surged 113% year-over-year to $680 million in 2026, driven largely by Crypto.com’s $400 million Series D round backed by Citadel Securities. Completed deals dropped to 25 from 46 in 2025, pushing the average round to $27.2 million versus $6.9 million a year earlier. Singapore accounted for 82.5% of cumulative regional investment, and only four firms have reached Series D or beyond. The data comes from market intelligence platform Tracxn.

Southeast Asia’s blockchain funding rose 113% to $680 million in 2026, market intelligence platform Tracxn reported. Completed funding rounds fell to 25, compared with 46 throughout 2025. Crypto.com’s $400 million investment accounted for nearly 60% of the money raised across the region this year. The exchange completed its Series D in July, with backing from Citadel Securities. Blockchain-based financial services saw the highest share of investment, raising $498 million through 19 transactions. Tracxn also reported a $114 million investment in tokenization platforms and a $77 million investment in decentralized application development platforms. Funding levels remain below their all-time high of 2022, when start-ups raised $2.2 billion across 206 rounds. In 2023, funding slumped to $386 million, increased to $804 million in 2024, then declined again in 2025.

Singapore represents 82.5% of the cumulative investment of $6.2 billion in Southeast Asia, translating into roughly $5.1 billion. Jakarta comes next, with a 3% share of cumulative investment, amounting to about $186 million. Tracxn identified 3,957 blockchain funding firms in the region, of which 1,323 have equity investment. Only 167 have achieved Series A or beyond; 50 firms have reached Series B, 14 have closed Series C, and just four have progressed to Series D and beyond, including Crypto.com.

Elsewhere, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation is creating a tokenization service in collaboration with more than 50 American financial institutions. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo are also developing tokenized deposit infrastructure. In July, Coinbase announced an intention to increase employees in its Singapore office from around 150 to around 200 by year-end, citing institutional demand and tokenization as focus areas.

Tracxn found 43 acquisitions in the space against only four initial public offerings. The report noted acquisitions of Coinhako by SBI Holdings and NOBI by Bybit. The Coinhako purchase was completed after receiving approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore in July.
