Stellar (XLM) Under Pressure, But Analyst Eyes $5 Bullish Breakout

-

Stellar (XLM) is navigating a period of short-term bearish pressure, characterized by weak momentum and declining trading activity. The cryptocurrency has pulled back to approximately $0.17770 after failing to sustain a rebound above key resistance, with technical indicators signaling weak buying pressure. Despite these headwinds, the long-term outlook is bolstered by growing institutional adoption, including a successful pilot of a stablecoin by a major U.S. bank on the Stellar network. Analysts continue to monitor the asset for a potential major bullish trend if it can reclaim critical resistance levels.

Stellar (XLM) remains under short-term pressure as weak momentum and cautious trading activity weigh on its outlook. Data shows the cryptocurrency has experienced a bearish trend since reaching an August peak near $0.22000.

A short-lived recovery in early September failed to develop into a sustained breakout. XLM has since pulled back toward $0.17770, with price action forming lower highs that indicate sellers retain control of the short-term pattern.

XLM is trading below its 20-period, 50-period, 100-period, and 200-period exponential moving averages, all located above the $0.18000 level. A breakout above this resistance could mark the first signal that buyers have regained traction.

The 14-period Relative Strength Index is at 42.16, below the signal line at 45.47, indicating poor buying pressure. According to MikybullCrypto, traders should “pay close attention to the current setup” as the anticipated rally could be explosive.

CoinGlass data shows XLM’s trading volume fell by 46.66% to $83.32 million. Open interest also declined by 3.81% to $176.76 million, suggesting reduced market participation.

On the positive side, the Stellar network recently highlighted a successful pilot run of USBDC, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin built by US Bank on its blockchain. This represents an important case of traditional banks experimenting with blockchain technology.
