It is a complete stack framework composed of a JavaScript backend and React frontend library. The tool allows developers to build applications and dashboards that interact directly with mining devices.

Tether indicated mining typically requires separate software to manage energy systems, data centers, and sites independently. The MDK framework aims to overcome these inefficiencies by serving as a unified open system.

It uses a capability-based architecture where independent modules interact with standardized device capabilities. This design allows new hardware and services to be integrated without changing the base system.

The framework is flexible and works with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. It supports monitoring dashboards for tracking performance and managing mining pools.

According to Tether, MDK enables automation and advanced processing for mining organizations. The framework also facilitates the integration of AI-based systems for developers.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said infrastructures remain a core part of mining operations. He explained that the mining industry is shifting towards automation and smarter systems.

The development builds upon the earlier Tether Mining Operating System. MDK expands this by enabling developers to create customized tools on top of that foundational system.
