Select US Senators will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday to discuss the Crypto Clarity Act, according to Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio). Moreno stated that a group of senators will update the president on the bill and its “path to success.” The legislation aims to provide regulatory clarity between the SEC and CFTC and maintain US leadership in digital finance. The bill passed the House in July 2025 and cleared two Senate committees before Memorial Day 2026. Senate Majority Leader John Thune hopes to bring it to a floor vote before August 7, 2026, and President Trump has urged passage in honor of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

Moreno noted that Trump has been deeply involved in the bill. “He’s the one who’s really driven the innovation that I think will pay dividends,” Moreno said.
White House spokespeople have yet to confirm the meeting, but it is expected given Trump’s strong backing of the crypto bill. The Crypto CLARITY Act seeks to prevent companies from facing contradictory or ambiguous rules from the SEC and CFTC.
It also aims to maintain US leadership in digital finance by creating a framework that encourages domestic blockchain development. The bill passed the House of Representatives in July 2025 and cleared two Senate committees before Memorial Day 2026.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Wednesday that he hopes to put the bill on the floor for a vote this work period, which ends August 7. When asked if he would schedule a vote without a deal with Democrats, Thune stated, “At some point, we’ll vote on it, yeah.”
It remains unclear when a revised draft of the bill will be released. Earlier this week, President Trump pushed the Senate to pass the landmark legislation to honor South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who died over the weekend after a sudden illness.
