WHITE TECH, the crypto infrastructure arm of the W Group, has received regulatory approval from the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA). The firm is the first in Croatia to be licensed under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. This authorization allows it to provide regulated services including crypto-to-fiat exchange, asset transfers, and custody in Croatia.
WHITE TECH has been approved to offer its services by HANFA. The firm will operate under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation.
The company is a core infrastructure component within the W Group and is majority-owned by Volodymyr Nosov, founder of WhiteBIT. Its platform enables conversion between crypto-assets and fiat and executes transfers for businesses and users.
The authorization permits WHITE TECH to provide a range of regulated crypto services in Croatia. These services include exchanges between crypto and fiat, transfers, and custody and management of crypto-assets.
It will be supervised by HANFA while adhering to MiCA standards for governance and consumer protection. WHITE TECH is the first company in Croatia to be licensed under this new EU framework.
The MiCA regulation ensures uniform rules across the EU to enhance transparency in the crypto market. This milestone reflects the company’s growth as part of the broader W Group ecosystem.
W Group is an international fintech ecosystem with 35 million users across 150 countries. It is home to WhiteBIT, which it describes as the biggest European cryptocurrency exchange by traffic.
