Warren Buffett’s Berkshire to reap $848M Coca-Cola dividend in 2026

-

Berkshire Hathaway, led by Warren Buffett, is set to receive $848 million in dividends from its 400 million Coca-Cola shares in 2026 after the beverage giant announced its 64th consecutive annual dividend increase to $2.12 per share. This passive income nearly doubles the $704 million dividend received in 2022, reflecting decades of holding the stock. Buffett, who drinks five 12-ounce Cokes daily, first collected $75 million from Coca-Cola in 1994. The company’s investment in the soda maker exemplifies his strategy of investing in familiar businesses.

According to the latest 13F filing for the second quarter of 2026, Berkshire Hathaway holds 400 million shares in Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO). The beverage firm announced it is raising its dividend to $2.12 per share for the next payout scheduled for October 1, 2026.

This marks its 64th consecutive annual dividend increase, among the highest payouts in the broader stock market. Consequently, Berkshire Hathaway will receive a staggering $848 million payout in dividends alone.

In 2022, Warren Buffett received a dividend of $704 million from Coca-Cola. That impressive amount shows passive income for Berkshire Hathaway closing in on a billion dollars.

Coca-Cola is not only one of Warren Buffett’s favorite stocks but also his favorite drink. During a 2019 CNBC Squawk Box interview, he stated, “I drink probably five 12-ounce Cokes a day, and that’s about 700 calories, and I’ve been doing it more or less my whole life. I can’t imagine anybody that feels better than I do.”

This aligns with his advice of investing in companies that you personally know. He is not only drinking a good amount of Coca-Cola but also earning massive dividends from it.

The first dividend payout Warren Buffett received from Coca-Cola in 1994 was $75 million. It has grown more than 10x two decades later simply by holding the equity.

Buffett remarked, “The cash dividend we received from Coke in 1994 was $75 million. By 2022, the dividend had increased to $704 million. Growth occurred every year, just as certain as birthdays.”
