The XRP Ledger is set to activate a critical software amendment on May 27, 2026, targeting bug fixes across its non-fungible token (NFT), vault, lending, and permissioned domain features. The update, known as fixCleanup3_1_3 and included in the rippled version 3.1.3, was developed by the RippleX team and announced by the XRP Ledger Foundation. Network validators must upgrade their servers before the activation to avoid falling out of sync with the blockchain.
The XRP Ledger will enable the fixCleanup3_1_3 amendment on Wednesday, May 27. This update addresses several bugs to improve network stability and functionality.
One fix ensures the ledger properly clears out expired NFT offers instead of letting them accumulate. The amendment also corrects a bug where failed transactions could incorrectly alter settings in permissioned domains.
For vault withdrawals, the patch now mandates a check on the receiving account’s trust line limit, which was previously bypassed. The lending system receives updates to synchronize related records when a loan’s status changes, preventing outdated balances.
The fix also clarifies error handling for loan repayments. When a user attempts an overpayment on a loan that forbids it, the system will return a specific tecNO_PERMISSION error instead of a general one.
The amendment’s activation requires all node operators and validators to upgrade to the supported server version. Operators who fail to upgrade risk becoming amendment-blocked and losing network synchronization.
