XRP Rally Surges Past $1.4 as Senate CLARITY Act Vote Looms

-

XRP jumped over 5% on September 15, climbing back above $1.4 as the U.S. Senate prepares for a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act. The vote requires 60 votes to advance, and its outcome now shapes two distinct price paths for the token, with resistance near $1.7 or support around $1.3.

XRP price rose more than 5% on September 15, pushing the token back above $1.4 after news emerged that the U.S. Senate will hold a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act. The vote needs at least 60 votes to move forward, and Senate Republicans are pushing hard for it, though they still need around six Democratic senators on board.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, spoke out against the bill on Monday evening, arguing that it does not stop President Trump from continuing to profit off crypto businesses. Senate Republicans described their latest text as “the final, best, and last offer presented to Democrats.”

The bill would place most decentralized digital asset transactions under the jurisdiction of the CFTC rather than the SEC. That shift matters for XRP, a token that has spent years fighting SEC lawsuits over its securities status.

Analyst Celal Kucuker’s chart shows two descending resistance lines, both carrying a 13.55° angle, one from before XRP’s late 2024 breakout and one from the current decline. He argues that XRP sits close to its 50-day moving average, near where the earlier rally started, and he is projecting a possible 600% move that could push XRP above $9 if the pattern repeats.

Kucuker said, “Save this chart, print it out, and hang it on your wall.”

The vote outcome maps closely onto the existing technical picture. XRP has failed to push past $1.49 to $1.55 five separate times, and even August’s rally could not hold above that zone for long.

If the CLARITY Act clears the 60-vote threshold, that XRP resistance zone could give way and open the door toward the previous high near $1.7. If it falls short, profit-taking could pull XRP back to around $1.3, close to where a six-month volume weighted average price currently sits.

Between the vote and the chart pattern, XRP now has two separate paths toward a bigger move, and both feed into the same XRP price forecast. A yes vote plus a close above $1.7 would strengthen both the near-term rally and Kucuker’s larger move projection, while a no vote would likely stall things and drag XRP back toward its lower range. Either way, the next few hours matter a lot for XRP.
