Bitcoin Drops to $62,600 as Spot Demand Weakens, ETF Inflows Support

-

Bitcoin declined to approximately $62,600 as weak spot demand and defensive derivatives positioning weighed on the market, according to blockchain analytics firm Glassnode. While short-term buying pressure has slowed, continued inflows into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and resilient long-term holder behavior are providing underlying support. The future price direction may depend on a recovery in spot demand and sustained institutional participation.

Bitcoin fell to roughly $62,600 as spot market activity remained subdued, according to a recent report from blockchain analytics firm Glassnode. The firm noted that buying pressure has slowed considerably, limiting the cryptocurrency’s ability to sustain upward momentum.

Glassnode stated that “BTC has slipped to $62.6k as spot demand remains weak and derivatives stay defensive.” Lower spot demand often reflects reduced conviction among retail and short-term traders, making it more difficult for prices to break out of established trading ranges.

Despite the pullback, institutional participation remains an important source of stability. Glassnode highlighted continued inflows into Bitcoin ETFs, which have helped absorb selling pressure and prevent deeper declines.

On-chain activity shows resilient long-term holders. Metrics such as active addresses and capital retention indicate that many investors continue to hold their Bitcoin despite recent volatility. Historically, strong-holder conviction has played a critical role during consolidation periods, as it constrains circulating supply and reduces downside pressure.

The derivatives market remains another area of concern. Glassnode’s funding rate and momentum indicators suggest that traders are positioning conservatively, reflecting uncertainty about Bitcoin’s near-term direction. Defensive positioning may reduce the risk of excessive leverage-driven liquidations that have historically amplified downturns.
