The Cardano Foundation and Brazilian technology firm Blockforce have launched a supply chain verification system in Brazil that uses Cardano as its public proof layer. The platform has anchored cryptographic evidence for more than 500,000 commercial records. Major Brazilian fashion companies, including Azzas 2154, are using the system. Transactions stay private on Hyperledger Fabric while cryptographic proofs on Cardano allow independent verification of document integrity. Batching certificates reduces anchoring costs by approximately 92%. Signed contracts secure 6.5 million certificates to be anchored until 2030.
The Cardano Foundation and Blockforce launched the system on Aug. 31. The platform uses Cardano as a public proof layer for supply chain records.
A double-ledger approach keeps transaction data private on Hyperledger Fabric. Only approved participants can access the private ledger.
Each transaction generates a cryptographic proof anchored to Cardano. Regulators can compare original documents against public proofs to detect alterations.
The Cardano Foundation stated that this maintains confidentiality of business information. Supplier details, prices, and contracts remain off the public blockchain.
The proof does not verify the authenticity of the original data. It only confirms whether a document has been altered after anchoring.
Azzas 2154, Latin America’s largest fashion group, is using the system for leather supply chain tracking. The company uses financial documents, supplier information, and public databases for auditable product journeys.
The group aims to track all leathers used in its brands until 2030. European regulations requiring Digital Product Passports for textiles provide additional motivation.
The partners stated their platform could help with document verification. They did not claim automatic regulatory compliance.
Batching certificates reduces anchoring costs by approximately 92%. Blockforce’s uVerify system uses variable batch sizes to anchor multiple certificates per transaction.
The announcement included no transaction identifiers or verification dashboard. No independent audit of throughput or reliability was provided.
Signed contracts secure 6.5 million certificates to be anchored until 2030. The confirmed production volume exceeds 500,000 certificates.
Blockforce plans to deploy the technology in auto manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
