Chainlink brings six US economic data feeds to 10 blockchains

-

Chainlink announced on September 1, 2025, that its data feeds now deliver official U.S. economic figures from the Bureau of Economic Analysis across ten public blockchains. The service, which began in August 2025, provides real GDP, the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers in both level and quarterly change formats. Supported chains include Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Ethereum, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync. Possible applications include prediction markets and adaptive financial products, but no confirmed deployments exist, and there is no assurance of additional demand for LINK tokens.

The figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), which publishes some of the country’s most closely watched economic reports. Through its work with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Chainlink makes three measures available to blockchain applications: real GDP, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers.

GDP tracks the size and growth of the economy. The PCE index measures changes in consumer prices, while private domestic sales offer another view of demand from households and businesses.

There are two forms of each measure. The first shows the latest reported level, and the other shows the change during the quarter, creating six data feeds.

Supported chains are Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Ethereum, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync. The role of Chainlink, as stated, is to deliver those figures in a format that blockchain-based services can read and use automatically, while the BEA still produces the original figures.

One possible use is a prediction market allowing participants to forecast GDP growth or inflation. The prediction settles when the latest government figures are released.

Developers could develop financial products with terms that change in response to inflation or economic growth. Lending platforms may also use the information when varying their risk controls.

These remain possible applications and are not confirmed deployments. There is no assurance of additional demand for LINK, and its effects will manifest only if developers choose to use the feeds and create apps that could increase users.
