Polkadot (DOT) Bears Target $0.85 Amid Technical Breakdown, Developer Activity Surges 150%

-

Polkadot (DOT) is experiencing short-term bearish pressure after a technical breakdown, though a surge in developer activity on its Devnet suggests growing ecosystem engagement. Analysts identified a breakdown below a triangle pattern’s support, putting the recovery setup under strain. However, data shows network throughput jumped nearly 150% on September 2, processing 4,960 transactions in one hour, driven by the Polkadot Products Devnet. This testnet, launched in July, hosts over 200 indexed apps. As of the latest data, DOT trades at $0.8599 with a market cap of $1.46 billion, leaving its next move dependent on whether bulls can reclaim key resistance levels.

At the time of writing, DOT is trading at $0.8599 with a 24-hour trading volume of $110.62 million and a market capitalization of $1.46 billion.

According to crypto analyst Crypto With Gopal, the DOT price is facing renewed selling pressure after rejecting the upper boundary of a developing triangle pattern. The subsequent breakdown below lower support has shifted short-term momentum in favor of bears.

A sustained move beneath the $0.855–$0.850 zone could confirm further downside and invalidate the earlier bullish target near $0.910. However, the bearish pattern might be invalidated if there is a rapid bounce higher from the $0.865-$0.870 area.

Data from BSCN highlighted that Polkadot experienced a sudden rise in activity on September 2, as its throughput rose by around 150%, reaching 0.06 transactions per second, as reported by Chainspect. In just one hour, the network managed to process 4,960 transactions.

The surge is tied to Polkadot Products Devnet, a public testnet released in July through the Paseo testnet. It is administered by the Polkadot Community Foundation and allows developers to run apps while testing identity, payments, storage, markets, and more.

The DOT price’s subsequent movement is hinged on whether bulls will manage to retake the $0.865-$0.870 level of resistance. A breakout can see bulls take advantage of the momentum to move to $0.91, while a fall below $0.850 may increase selling pressure.
