Cryptocurrency analyst Michael Van de Poppe has predicted Bitcoin could reach $85,000 by the end of April. In a recent social media post, he stated that a decisive break above $75,000 with strong trading volume could propel the asset to that target. Poppe also suggested such a move could trigger significant rallies in alternative cryptocurrencies, or altcoins.
Cryptocurrency analyst Michael Van de Poppe has forecast that Bitcoin may rally to $85,000 by the end of this month. He stated this scenario becomes likely if Bitcoin cleanly breaks above the $75,000 resistance level with sufficient volume.
The analyst noted Bitcoin is currently consolidating around $75,000 and aims to attack its previous price highs. He mentioned markets have turned upwards generally, showing strength despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East.
Poppe outlined a specific condition for this bullish outlook, suggesting that if $72,000 holds as a support level, the chances of seeing $80,000 this month increase to over 70%. He framed this as the upper case scenario from a prior analysis, which the markets appear to be following.
The prediction also extends to the broader digital asset market. Poppe indicated that a Bitcoin surge to $85,000 would likely catalyze a major altcoin rally.
He explained that altcoins could have a beta of 2-3 relative to Bitcoin. This means a 10% move for Bitcoin could result in a 20-30% or even higher move for altcoins.
