IBM and SAP have announced collaborations to support the initiative, which implements hardware and software controls for governing AI agent interactions.

Nvidia has increased its share repurchase authorization by $150 billion, bringing total buyback approvals to $235 billion. The expanded program extends through the fiscal 2028 year, giving the company additional capacity to return capital to stockholders.

Nvidia‘s latest financial reports show revenue of $96.2 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, a 106% increase year over year. Data Center revenues reached $89 billion, growing 117% compared to the prior year.

The remaining balance under the previous authorization stood at $99 billion at the end of the quarter. Nvidia returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders during the most recent quarter through buybacks and dividends.

The company also launched the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, designed to ensure security and governance of AI agents. The initiative uses software and hardware controls to govern interactions between AI agents and applications, data, and computing infrastructure.

IBM announced a collaboration with Nvidia for the safety platform, providing technology for agent identity, credentials, and hybrid cloud infrastructure. SAP also plans to collaborate on OpenShell, an environment designed for auditable enterprise AI agents.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, characterized AI safety as a technological issue that can be tackled with improved technologies. The new safety solution incorporates security measures directly into AI infrastructure.
