Hyperliquid (HYPE) has proposed HIP-4, a governance upgrade introducing permissionless outcome markets that expand the protocol beyond perpetual futures into a broader infrastructure layer. Deployers must stake 500,000 HYPE to launch new markets, with validator-approved templates and slashing rules preserving quality. A trader recently staked 249,243 HYPE ($15.5 million) instead of realizing gains, as total staked HYPE reached 438.7 million tokens (43.9% of supply). Open interest crossed $11 billion with balanced funding rates, while positive sentiment hit its second-highest monthly level, signaling growing confidence in Hyperliquid’s expanding role.
Hyperliquid (HYPE) has proposed a HIP-4 upgrade to introduce permissionless outcome markets, expanding the protocol beyond perpetual futures into a broader infrastructure layer for on-chain applications.
According to Varun Datta, Founder and CEO of Truth Ventures, “The next phase of digital finance won’t be won by the platforms building the most products.” Instead, the model of enabling others to build will deliver greater long-term investment value.
Deployers must stake 500,000 HYPE to launch new markets. Validator-approved templates and slashing rules help preserve market quality as participation scales.
HYPE’s positive sentiment recently hit its second-highest level over the past month. This suggested that investors now increasingly recognize Hyperliquid’s expanding role in digital finance.
A trader with $2.37 million in all-time perpetual profits recently staked 249,243 HYPE, worth about $15.5 million, instead of realizing gains. According to Dune, total staked HYPE climbed to approximately 438.7 million tokens, representing 43.9% of the total supply.
The overall staking rate remained near 44%. Liquid staking participation eased gradually, indicating that most users still prefer native validators.
Sustained staking reduces immediately available supply and strengthens network security. Progressive growth in protocol usage may ultimately lead to reduced availability of supply for investors while supporting HYPE’s long-term value proposition.
Open interest crossed $11 billion in the last 24 hours. Balanced funding rates and limited liquidations hinted that traders may be adding exposure without excessive leverage.
Rising revenue, expanding TVL, and active governance participation mean ecosystem growth may be extending beyond price action alone. Sustaining that momentum will depend on continued user adoption and successful execution of upcoming upgrades.
