Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale outlined a new potential use case for Bitcoin, linking it to the rise of artificial intelligence. He stated that AI agents, which already account for 19% of on-chain activity, may need Bitcoin to coordinate economic incentive systems. This view was echoed by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who noted that Coinbase has launched infrastructure enabling AI agents to hold wallets and make payments autonomously.
The cryptocurrency domain continues to evolve, with Bitcoin finding new use cases as adoption rapidly rises. Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale recently shared a vision integrating Bitcoin with the evolving AI domain.
Lonsdale believes the rise of AI agents can be used to scale Bitcoin, predicting these agents may gain central authority in the economy. He added that “AI agents are going to start doing a lot of things in our economy. And for AI agents to coordinate with incentive systems, I’m probably going to use crypto.”
He noted AI agents already drive 19% of on-chain activity and are set to lead Bitcoin adoption. This stance has also been shared by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, who believes AI agents will play a crucial role in the future.
In a post shared by TFTC, it was stated that Coinbase has introduced infrastructure for AI agents to conduct transactions. Armstrong stated, “Soon there will be more AI agents than humans making transactions.”
