Most larger-cap altcoins saw more modest increases, while the total crypto market cap remained below $2.3 trillion.
Bitcoin’s price climbed to $64,500 on Saturday evening after US President Donald Trump halted planned attacks on Iran, following resumed talks between the nations. The asset had previously defended the $64,000 support level after a week that saw it briefly jump to a monthly high near $67,000 before correcting.
Shiba Inu has stolen the show from larger-cap alts, rocketing by over 35% to mark a two-month peak. PEPE surged by 9.6% daily and 26% over the past month, while Dogecoin rose by 5.8% to $0.073. VVV gained 12% to $14.5, joining the meme coin rally.
Among other notable movers, AVAX pumped by 9%. The rest of the larger-cap alts posted significantly more modest increases. ETH reached nearly $1,900 after a 1.5% jump, while XRP returned to $1.10. HYPE rose by 2.5% but still traded below $60, with ZEC and CC also in the green.
Bitcoin’s market capitalization returned to $1.290 trillion on CoinGecko, with its dominance over altcoins rising to almost 57%. The total crypto market cap increased slightly but remained under $2.3 trillion.
