Solana transactions hit a new milestone in August, with 5.2 billion non-vote transactions processed on the network. This represents a 19% increase over July’s record, according to data from Blockworks.
Non-vote transactions track real network usage, as they consist of user and application transactions. The milestone was described as “A new ATH, up 19% from July’s record.”
Other on-chain metrics support the trend. The total value locked on Solana remained near $5.8 billion through the end of August, per data from DeFiLlama. Active addresses surpassed 2 million on several occasions, and transaction levels stayed high throughout the month, indicating sustained activity rather than a single spike.
Recent ecosystem developments also contribute to the momentum. Solana announced the launch of GPRO through Backpack Securities and Sunrise, as well as the availability of Securitize’s High Income Tokenized Fund (HINC) as collateral on Loopscale. These developments suggest use cases on the network are expanding beyond traditional cryptocurrency trading.
At present, SOL is trading at $101.67, with a 1.35% decrease over the past 24 hours. Whether this trend continues through September remains to be seen, but August has already established a new benchmark for activity on the network.
