Trump Meme Coin VIPs Cost 90% Less for Mar-a-Lago Event This Year

-

President Donald Trump will host another in-person event for holders of his official TRUMP meme coin this month. VIP status for the Mar-a-Lago luncheon required holders to possess far less value in tokens than last year, with some accounts qualifying with around $300,000. The token’s price has fallen about 96% from its all-time high, recently trading near $2.80.

President Donald Trump is set to host another event for his Solana-based meme coin holders at Mar-a-Lago later this month. The guest list was finalized based on a leaderboard tied to token holdings.

VIP status for this event cost roughly 90% less than last year. Attendees could earn the top access level with around $300,000 worth of TRUMP tokens, compared to millions last time.

Based on the final leaderboard and on-chain data, one VIP account never held more than 114,212 tokens during the snapshot period. That amount is now worth approximately $318,000.

For last year’s inaugural gala, VIPs held an average of about $4.78 million in tokens. The final VIP holder in May had nearly $3 million worth of TRUMP at the snapshot time.

Tron founder Justin Sun was again the top holder on this year’s leaderboard. His account holds around $9.3 million in tokens, though he owns more tokens than last year.

The official TRUMP token was recently trading around $2.80. This is down 96% from its all-time high of over $73.

Holders also earned points for purchases of Trump-branded merchandise during the holding period. This bonus could have affected some rankings but is not visible on-chain.

Last year’s dinner drew scrutiny from Democratic lawmakers, including Senator Elizabeth Warren. She called the event an “orgy of corruption,” alleging it allowed people to buy access.

This year’s event requires attendees to pass a background check. The terms state it may be cancelled and does not guarantee President Trump’s attendance.

If the event does not take place, attendees will receive a Trump-themed NFT. The luncheon and conference is scheduled for April 25.
