XRP Dips to $1.38 as Whale Divisions Grow Despite Record ETF Inflows

-

Ripple (XRP) has seen its price cool to approximately $1.38, an 8.50% decline over the past week, even as institutional interest surges. Spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have recorded nine consecutive days of inflows, bringing the monthly total to $157 million. Despite this bullish signal, whale traders remain divided, with major positions on Hyperliquid DEX showing both long and short bets. Technical indicators suggest the token is still above a key support level of $1.10, leaving the potential for a “supercycle” intact if momentum can be regained.

Spot XRP ETFs have logged nine straight days of net inflows, with the largest single-day inflow for August reaching $28.14 million, according to data from SoSoValue. The products have attracted over $153.54 million during this streak, bringing the month’s total to $157 million. In the past 24 hours alone, ETFs recorded $26.20 million in net inflows, led by Bitwise with $11.17 million, followed by Canary, Franklin, and 21Shares.

While ETF inflows suggest a looming XRP supercycle, whale traders remain unconvinced. The largest positions on Hyperliquid DEX show a split: one whale holds an $8.89 million unrealized profit after buying 35 million XRP with 10x leverage, while another shorted 11.06 million XRP valued at $15 million with 5x leverage. According to the data, most top 30 orders on the exchange are short, and most are profitable unless the entry price was below $1.38.

On the charts, XRP is trading above a slanting trendline after falling from a peak of $1.70. Technical indicators show a moving average crossover for the 20-day and 50-day averages, with the price now approaching those levels. Transaction volume is averaging 814.35 million XRP, well below the year’s peak of 3.752 billion, and the Bull Bear Power bars are declining.

For the supercycle to remain active, bulls must keep the price above the moving average crossover at $1.10. The current correction may be a pause before the rally continues.
