The cryptocurrency market operates in four-year cycles, with Bitcoin (BTC) reaching new all-time highs in 2017, 2021, and 2025. Historical patterns suggest another peak could occur in 2029, with the next bull run potentially beginning in 2027. As Bitcoin rallies, other cryptocurrencies typically follow. Three assets are identified as potential candidates for significant price movement in the next cycle: Dogecoin (DOGE), XRP, and Monero (XMR).
The cryptocurrency market works in cycles. While the current scenario may not inspire confidence, it is not something that veteran crypto investors have not seen in the past.
Bitcoin (BTC) itself tends to follow a four-year cycle. The asset has hit a new all-time high in 2017, 2021, and 2025, and by that pattern, another peak could come in 2029.
When BTC hits a new all-time high, other cryptocurrencies tend to follow. The journey to the peak may begin sometime in 2027.
The first cryptocurrency is Dogecoin (DOGE). DOGE has upcoming events that could propel the memecoin to the $1 mark.
Elon Musk has said that SpaceX’s Dogecoin-funded DOGE-1 satellite may launch later this year or in 2027. Additionally, Musk’s X Payment platform may include cryptocurrency payments, with DOGE likely part of the list.
The second cryptocurrency is XRP. A lawsuit against Ripple by the SEC came to an end last year, bringing regulatory clarity for the asset.
XRP also saw the launch of several ETFs in late 2025. The cryptocurrency market entered a bearish phase soon after XRP’s troubles ended.
The third cryptocurrency is Monero (XMR). Privacy cryptocurrencies that are untraceable by authorities have become increasingly popular as people become more untrusting.
Monero (XMR) hit an all-time high earlier this year. The asset could breach the $1000 mark in the next bull run.
