Bitcoin Dips to $62K, Alts Mixed: M and ALGO Green, ONDO and PI Plunge

-

Bitcoin fell below $63,000 on Monday, dipping to $62,200 for the second time in days after a brief Sunday relief rally failed to hold. The larger-cap altcoins followed the downturn, with Ethereum sliding below $1,850 and XRP heading toward a key support level. Among the few altcoins in the green were MemeCore and Algorand, while Pi Network, ONDO, and PUMP posted losses. The total crypto market cap shed about $40 billion in a day, falling to $2.220 trillion.

Bitcoin’s decline continued Monday as the cryptocurrency dropped below $63,000 and touched $62,200 for the second time in recent days. The asset had earlier rebounded to $63,700 on Sunday after a brief relief rally tied to geopolitical developments, but the upward move was stopped.

Ethereum struggled below $1,850 after another minor daily decline. XRP fought to stay above $1.05, a level analysts described as its “battlefield,” noting that if held, the token could still stage a major rebound.

Solana, Dogecoin, Rain, Cardano, and Monero were also in the red. Hyperliquid and BNB posted insignificant gains. Pi Network’s PI had impressed over the weekend with gains of 5–6% but stalled Monday, falling over 5% to under $0.084.

MemeCore and Algorand were among the few altcoins in the green daily. BEAT plunged by 24%, followed by ONDO’s 6% crash. The total crypto market cap shed approximately $40 billion in a day, dropping to $2.220 trillion.

The previous business week began positively, with BTC defending $64,000 and jumping to $65,600 on several occasions. However, a second rejection pushed the cryptocurrency below $62,800 just before the Federal Reserve’s FOMC meeting, where rates were held unchanged. Bitcoin then jumped to $65,400 on Friday before bears drove it south to $62,400. It later rebounded to $63,000 but dipped again to $62,200.
