Bitcoin (BTC) has confirmed a golden cross for the first time since November 2025, with its 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day moving average. Historically, the last three such formations preceded rallies of 50%, 45%, and 60%, respectively. Concurrently, Bitcoin ETF inflows have climbed to approximately $3.8 billion, a factor that could support a move toward the $100,000 price level. However, BTC currently faces substantial resistance in the $79,000–$81,000 range. Recent bullish catalysts include President Trump’s White House cryptocurrency event and the U.S. Treasury’s increased bond buybacks, while hawkish signals from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and weak August jobs data introduce headwinds.
Bitcoin (BTC) has confirmed its “golden cross,” as stated by Coin Bureau: “Bitcoin’s golden cross has officially confirmed for the first time since November 2025. Its 50-day average has crossed above the 200-day after spending nearly 280 days below this signal.” The last three completed golden crosses sent Bitcoin up 50%, 45%, and 60%, respectively.
ETF inflows climbed to nearly $3.8 billion, which could also propel BTC to the $100,000 price level. Despite the bullish technical signal, BTC’s price faces substantial resistance at the $79,000–$81,000 range.
BTC saw an upswing in late August after President Trump’s White House cryptocurrency event, where he stated that the U.S. plans to purchase a large amount of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Another bullish factor was the U.S. Treasury’s increased bond buybacks, which led to a liquidity spike.
Bitcoin and the larger market saw another upswing earlier this month after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher J. Waller said interest rates may remain unchanged if inflation does not rise. However, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s hawkish speech mentioned at the Jackson Hole meeting last month emphasized rising inflation.
The August jobs data was also not very promising, leading many to anticipate a 25 basis point interest rate hike. A rate hike could bar Bitcoin from the $100k mark anytime soon.
