Bitcoin returned to $79,000 after briefly dropping to $77,600 yesterday following a rejection above $80,000 on Monday. The cryptocurrency had previously touched $82,000 on Friday before a stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs report drove it below $79,000.
Most larger-cap altcoins traded in the green. Ethereum rose more than 1% in the past 24 hours to above $2,500, while Solana held the $100 support level. Ripple’s XRP slipped below the $1.40 support yesterday but rebounded 3.5% to $1.44 as bulls defended that level.
Among the biggest movers, VVV rocketed over 50% in the past 24 hours to trade at $29. LIT, ATOM, and DOT also posted significant gains. ZEC continued its rally, climbing nearly 10% daily to $1,240. HYPE hit another all-time high near $90.
Bitcoin’s market capitalization rose to $1.59 trillion, with its dominance over altcoins increasing to 58.8%. The total cryptocurrency market cap edged up 0.54% to $2.69 trillion, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
