Bitcoin nears confirmation of bottom, needs close above $82,700

-

Bitcoin has cleared approximately 80% of the technical conditions needed to confirm its recent price low, according to crypto analyst Sykodelic. The final confirmation hinges on whether BTC can close above $82,700 within the next few days as weekly and monthly candles settle. The digital asset has reclaimed several key resistance levels, including the $67,000 local structure and the $74,400 higher-timeframe structure. It has also moved above its daily 200 SMA and weekly 50 EMA. However, a close above $82,700 remains the deciding factor for whether the bottom is locked in or if a drop to $75,000 is still possible.

Analyst Sykodelic stated that Bitcoin has “put in 80% of the data needed to confirm the low.” The remaining requirements include a weekly close above the 50 SMA at $82,000 and a close above the Supertrend line at $79,000.

A higher low set above $82,700 and a monthly close above $76,463 are also necessary. “However, for this low to be undeniable, we need to close above $82,700,” the analyst wrote.

Two potential paths were identified. A push above $82,000 this week could send the price toward $90,000 quickly. Choppiness below $82,700 could mean one more leg down to around $75,000.

A separate bottom signal was observed, with short-term holder MVRV Bollinger Bands entering an overheated zone for the first time since November 2024. Similar readings appeared near the ends of the 2018 and 2022 bear markets, described as the third-largest in nine years.

The broader setup was described as healthy, with funding rates easing as prices pushed higher and open interest cooling off. The Coinbase premium turned positive for the first time in three and a half months, and spot volume has remained strong.

Bitcoin broke above $65,000 roughly two weeks ago, then ran to $70,000 and touched almost $80,000 that week. It slipped to $75,500 over the weekend before finding buyers.

The asset climbed past $81,000 for the first time since mid-May, then dipped back under $78,000. It has since recovered to trade just under $79,000, up slightly over 1% in 24 hours and more than 5% over seven days. It is up nearly 24% over 30 days but remains about 36% below its October 2025 all-time high.
