Trading card company Cardsmiths has launched Currency Series 6, a special collection commemorating the U.S. 250th anniversary in partnership with America250. The collection features over 120 cards and limited packaging serial-numbered to 1,776. Rare cards within the packs can be redeemed for actual cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, with top prizes valued at approximately $66,600 and $1,900 respectively.
Cardsmiths has unveiled Currency Series 6 in collaboration with America250, the congressionally-established organization overseeing the nation’s semiquincentennial celebrations. The 120-plus card collection honors the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with 90 base cards featuring historical figures and economic forces.
Artist contributions include work from street art icon Mr. Brainwash and illustrators Jon McTavish and Thomas Zahler. Each limited-edition specialty package is individually serial-numbered up to 1,776, a direct reference to the year of the nation’s founding.
The series continues the company’s tradition of embedding crypto redemption cards randomly within packs. Collectors can find cards redeemable for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, or Dogecoin, with top prizes including a full Bitcoin and a full Ethereum token. Those assets are currently valued at approximately $66,600 and $1,900 respectively.
Collector boxes containing two packs are now available starting at $37. In a statement, Cardsmiths co-founder and CEO Steve Loney said, “With this milestone release, we’re making history with history.” The collection was developed alongside America250 as part of the official 250th anniversary observances.
