The Pi Network Core Team has set an August 11 deadline for the deployment of Protocol Version 26, confirming that Version 25 is now live despite no official announcement. The update cycle, which began with Version 19.6 in February, has seen eight completed upgrades. Meanwhile, the native PI token rebounded over 6% in the last 24 hours, reclaiming the $0.08 level after hitting a low near $0.074 earlier in July. The team described Version 26 as a “major milestone ahead of the final planned upgrade,” which will be Version 27. Validators must complete steps before the deadline to remain connected to the blockchain.
The Pi Network Core Team has set August 11 as the deadline for completing the next protocol update, Version 26. The announcement effectively confirms that Version 25 was deployed within the prior timeframe, even without an official confirmation from the team.
According to the statement, “With 8 successful upgrades completed over the past few months, these final two upgrades will bring the network up to date with the latest protocol features, improvements, and functionality.” The team urged all Mainnet validators to complete necessary steps before the deadline to stay connected.
Pi Network’s native token has recently demonstrated resilience despite a broader downturn. The token nosedived to multiple all-time lows in July, with the latest low at just over $0.07.
Each breakout attempt was halted, with a rejection at $0.10 pushing the price below $0.09 and then below $0.08. The token tanked to $0.074 just a few days ago, but it managed to rebound yesterday and has rallied further today.
PI is up by over 6% on a 24-hour scale and has seemingly reclaimed the $0.08 level. This price movement may be linked to the announcement of the upcoming protocol upgrade.
