Solana led high-cap crypto assets with a 40% rally in August, its best monthly performance since the 2024 post-election cycle. The altcoin outperformed Ethereum, with the SOL/ETH ratio rising over 7% during the same period. Network activity strengthened to 2,100 transactions per second, up 3x from January, while Solana’s DEXs settled $3.15 billion in transactions on Friday alone, representing over 40% of total DEX volume. Solana ETFs posted their best weekly inflows of 2026 with over $150 million in the final week of August. Prediction markets price over 50% probability for SOL to reach $140 by year-end, though the asset faces resistance at $100.
Solana led high-cap assets with a 40% rally in August, its best monthly performance since the 2024 post-election cycle. The altcoin also outperformed Ethereum on a relative basis, with the SOL/ETH ratio up over 7% during the same period.
On a quarterly basis, however, the SOL/ETH ratio remains down over 10%. Ethereum’s 55% surge has outpaced Solana’s 40% jump.
The network processed an average of 2,100 transactions per second, up 3x from January. DEX activity also gained momentum, with $3.15 billion settled on Solana’s DEXs on Friday, representing over 40% of total DEX trading volume.
Solana ETFs posted their best weekly inflows of 2026, with over $150 million flowing in during the final week of August. Stronger network activity, rising DEX volume, and a surge in ETF inflows point to on-chain demand and institutional flows driving the rally.
Prediction markets price over 50% probability for SOL to reach $140 by year-end, roughly a 50% move from current levels. If SOL can break above the $100 resistance zone and sustain its momentum, the year-end target becomes more plausible.
This “convergence” of on-chain metrics and institutional flows is what, as stated, adds up to the bullish case for Solana. If the pattern continues, the SOL/ETH pair may climb further during September, allowing Solana to narrow its Q3 performance gap with Ethereum.
